Paddling through Fate

I paddle through the murky waters of fate,
In a small vessel of hopes and dreams,
Through a piercing silence, a bleeding darkness,
Towards the uncertainty lying upstream.

I paddle through the murky waters of fate,
And cold waves of time throw me ashore,
But I learn and I grow though it hurts,
And hold on dearly to my oar.

I paddle through the murky waters of fate,
Not seeing, not sensing where I go,
But I place my heart in one familiar voice that says,
“You are the master of your fate; you’ll know”.

I paddle through the murky waters of fate,
And stay afloat over the changing tides.
I bleed and I heal and I learn and I grow,
As I paddle over the waves of time.
